Is it better to hold the party during the day or in the evening?
There are several pros and cons to having your party in the afternoon versus in the evening. First of all, most services take place on Saturday mornings so a party in the evening will be hours later. This can be nice because it gives guests a chance to change and get excited for the night. You won’t have to worry about transporting all your guests from the synagogue to the hall, and it is better for any orthodox guests you have who may not be able to drive during Shabbat. On the other hand if you choose to do the party right after, the space you rent will most likely be cheaper and more guests will probably attend the service.
