How should I serve the food and drink?
How you choose to serve the food depends on the size of your guest list and where you choose to have your reunion. Family reunions commonly take place at someone’s home, at a restaurant, or possibly a church or park. If you’re on a budget, the cheapest option would be to either have the hosts cook all the food themselves or turn the reunion into a potluck. Potlucks are always fun because everyone gets to contribute and it takes some of the financial worry off the hosts. However, this may be difficult if the guests are coming from very far and won’t be able to cook or bring anything. If you’re having a High School reunion, then there is bound to be a lot of guests so a potluck is probably not an option. You can either decide to hire a caterer, have a sit down dinner, or simply serve appetizers. A sit down dinner is nice because it is very formal, but it is probably the most expensive option. A buffet is usually cheaper than a sit down and is great because there are typically a lot of options as well as people to help with the setting up and serving. If you don’t want guests to spend time sitting and eating the whole night and would rather keep the food simple, opt for h’ordeuvres or small finger foods instead.
