Do the bride and groom’s wedding bands have to match?

Wedding rings are a matter of taste and there is no law that states a couple’s wedding bands have to match. Oftentimes couples like to get wedding rings that are related either in color, material, or details because they like the idea of having matching symbols of their love and commitment. However, some couples have very different taste in jewelry and may not agree on the same band. For these cases, it may be more important that each spouse purchases the ring they want to wear and look at for the rest of their lives rather than rings that match.
