Do my wedding shoes have to be white?

Just as the case with the groom’s shoes and tie, there is no rule that says you have to wear white shoes. Some brides, having chosen to wear the traditional white dress, choose to make a statement with their shoes—wearing everything from cowboy boots to combat boots. Those may be a bit extreme, but the point is that you shouldn’t feel confined to only wearing white shoes because someone along time ago said so. It’s your wedding day, so you should whatever you feel the most beautiful in.
